BJA New Year Cocktail Celebration
Monday 27 January 2025 KU Leuven Library
The Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce is honored to invite you to a webinar on International Personal Data Transfers.
Tanguy Van Overstraeten, Partner, Global Head of Data Protection (Linklaters) and Garance Dekeyser, TMT/IP Associate (Linklaters) will present the latest legal developments relating to international personal data transfers in the EU and beyond, in conversation with Bruno Gencarelli, Head of the International Data Flows and Protection Unit at the European Commission (DG Justice and Consumers). Yannick Scheelen, Senior Manager Cybersecurity and Privacy (EY), will provide his insights on the technical aspects of data flows.
Be it the Schrems II judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union, the recent Recommendations of the European Data Protection Regulation (EDPB), or the new Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC), businesses have a lot on their plate to enable valid transfers.
Our experts from Linklaters, the EU Commission and EY will walk you through the latest developments and the supplementary legal, technical or organisational measures your company must implement to continue lawfully transfer personal data to third countries.
A Q&A session will follow the presentations.
