Exploring Innovation at Port Oostende - where Maritime Industry meets Research & Development
Tuesday 10 December 2024 Port Oostende
The Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce is honored to invite you to a webinar discussing the HR and tax related aspects of international remote working.
Carolien Van Gestel, Senior Manager Global Employer Services and Wim Eynatten, International Tax Partner of Deloitte and BJA Legal & Tax Committee Chair will address the tax implications. Wim Depondt, Senior Legal Advisor and Philippe Borremans, International Affairs Manager of Group S and BJA Membership Committee Chair will address the HR related aspects.
COVID-19 has made remote working increasingly common. Now that employees are gradually returning to their offices it is clear that remote working is here to stay. Whilst both the OECD and individual tax authorities have released statements on how to apply existing permanent establishment ("PE") rules, what are the PE implications of cross-border remote working in what may be the 'new normal' of increased workplace flexibility?
What will be the implications from social security and personal income tax perspectives? What legislation applies to the employment contract? To which social security system should the worker be subject? Which country is competent to collect taxes? A significant amount of uncertainty remains in relation to international remote working and careful consideration will be needed.
During this webinar, your questions will be answered and other points to be considered will be highlighted.
